ANNUAL PLANNING PROCESS

What is an Annual Planning Process?

The annual planning process is the application of a Strategic Master Plan on the ground. Two all-inclusive annual meetings use the master plan to coordinate upcoming projects in the early spring, and then review the past year’s efforts in late fall. Good communication is key, and project reporting, documentation and analysis helps managers and staff present successes and lessons-learned to owners and stakeholders.

Why is it Valuable?

The annual planning process converts planning into action and turns the Strategic Master Plan into a living document that adjusts to the ever-changing conditions of an operation. It also keeps everyone on the same page regarding the progress of projects and initiatives and the coordination of resources and staff. Good communication and documentation will keep diverse programs working together and focused on a common mission, saving time and money.

An Annual Planning Process Includes:

• Facilitation of at least two annual stakeholder meetings

• Assistance in preparing and delivering program/project presentations

• Templates for project reporting, documentation and monitoring

• Coordination of ranch programs as outlined in the Strategic Master Plan
